I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DIDN'T MENTION AN OLD STANDBY TOBACCO. MY FIRST SMOKE CAME ON MY GRANDFATHER'S OLD PIPE AND A BOWL FULL OF "PRINCE ALBERT". THE OLD MAN USED THE OLD POCKET TINS AND OFTEN WHEN HE EMPTIED THE CAN HE WOULD CUT IT DOWN AND MAKE A CONTAINER FOR HIS OLD KITCHEN MATCHES (THE ONES WITH THE WHITE HEADS) YOU COULD STRIKE THEM ANYWHERE. I DON'T KNOW IF PRINCE ALBERT WAS THE CHEAPEST TOBACCO OF THOSE DAYS OR NOT, BUT I DO KNOW IT WAS HIS CHOICE. OFTEN HIS KIDS WOULD BRING HIM MORE EXPENSIVE BRANDS, WHICH HE WOULD SMOKE, BUT THE OLD FELLOW WOULD ALWAYS GO BACK TO PRINCE ALBERT. TO THIS DAY I STILL SMOKE AN OCCASIONAL BOWL ALTHOUGH MY OVER THE COUNTER FAVORITE IS THE CAPTAIN BLACK IN THE WHITE CONTAINER.

I'm a Sea Captain and I've tried ALL of those Brands that smell so good in the pouch but they taste really BAD and they're almost impossible to keep lit....If you're thinking about switching to a Pipe, TRUST me, try Prince Albert and save yourself some time....I love it.
ReplyDeletePS....Prince Albert is not only a lot less expensive than those "fancy" bad tasting blends, It's also very user-friendly. It has a very rich aged tobacco flavor and a single match will keep it lit...I don't have time to keep relighting my pipe!!! It's the perfect pipe tobacco in my opinion.
ReplyDeletePSS...I tried all those SWEET SMELLING expensive blends first when I was trying to put those expensive cigarettes away...I was about to go back to cigarettes until I decided to try Prince Albert. It delivered ALL I was looking for!! Please feel free to email me at cpersall55@bellsouth.net for further bragging on PA Tobacco....(I love to open the can and just SMELL it like I do good Coffee!!)
